how can LASS help me?
Over the years LASS has developed a range of services to help those affected by HIV. These services are designed to provide care, support and guidance.
This is brief summary of the services we offer:
- Emotional care and support for people, either individually, with partners and friends, or with members of their family.
- Short or long term befriending.
- Drop in facilities where people can come together for support, to socialise, or for a chat.
- Respite Care for people living with HIV/AIDS and their carers.
- Practical help with household tasks, transport, and general day-to-day living.
- A foodbank supplying non-perishable food for people living with HIV/AIDS on low incomes, to help ensure dietary needs are being met.
- Complementary Therapies such as massage, aromatherapy, acupuncture and reflexology.
- Advocacy, information and advice: We support, work with, and act on behalf of people affected by HIV/AIDS. We also provide access to comprehensive information.
- Financial assistance: People with HIV/AIDS often face considerable financial pressure and the David Manley Fund can provide help towards household bills, transport, or other essential costs.
- Supported referrals to other agencies.
- Sexual health promotion and campaigning to promote positive sexual health and reduce prejudice and discrimination.
