Do-it was launched in 2001 with the first national database of volunteering opportunities in the UK. Do-it, are part of the registered charity YouthNet, a non-profit-making organisation. The majority of opportunities on Do-it come from local Volunteer Centres in England. In addition, some national organisations post their opportunities directly on to www.do-it.org.uk.

Through the commitment of our paid staff and volunteers, we have been supporting and educating people; providing information and training; challenging prejudice and discrimination; and helping to keep the reality of HIV/AIDS and the needs of people affected as high-profile as possible.

Over the last 20 years, more than 500 local people have given their time to become actively involved with LASS as a volunteer, whether supporting people affected; helping to raise awareness; getting involved with fundraising; being on our Management Committee/Board of Trustees; or assisting in a variety of other ways.

Volunteers have always been a significant and important element of LASS, bringing a wide range of skills, interests, life experiences and cultural backgrounds that reflect, strengthen and benefit our work and the lives of the people we support.

We welcome people who are genuinely interested in HIV/AIDS; are open-minded, non-judgemental, trustworthy and wanting to help make a difference, to become involved with us as a volunteer.

What will you get out of it?
