Process and Application forms
What to do if you are interested in becoming a volunteer
- If you wish to become a volunteer, in the first instance, we will ask you to complete a Volunteer Application Form. This allows you to identify areas in which you would like to volunteer in addition to providing information about you skill set.
- At the bottom of this, there are a number of documents. We have prepaired a number of exisiting volunteer roles, view the volunteer roles and assess if you have skills which match what we are looking for.
- If you have skills and experiance which is not covered in an existing role, please call or visit us to discuss your ideas and to ask questions.
- One of our managers will contact you to discuss your application and confirm if you still wish to volunteer for us. (It will be at this point when we ask for references from your application and we may also conduct a CRB check).
- We will then invite you to enter a volunteer agreement with LASS. this agreement will identify:
• Your role
• The training that you are expected to undertake (at no cost to you)
• The expenses that LASS will pay to you
• The insurance cover that will be provided for you
• Who will be your supervisor
• The notice that will be given to you if the role comes to an end. - Once we have entered a volunteer agreement, we will ensure you have all the training necessary for you to complete the role.
- After you are trainined in the required areas, will will give you an induction to the organisation.
