Volunteer with LASS >
Application Process
- To request a volunteer application pack, please contact us by email: gala@lass.org.uk or by Telephone: 0116 2559995, This allows you to identify areas in which you would like to volunteer in addition to providing information about your skill set. It is not available to download as we also send out a Criminal Records Disclosure form (which we’re unable to provide on-line).
- After we have had the chance to review your application, we will send for your references and conduct an enhanced Criminal Records Check for you. This is to ensure we are compliant with safeguarding Vulnerable Adults and Children.
- If you need help to complete your CRB disclosure form, please visit the Independent Safeguarding Authority’s website and follow their steps. Their useful guide can be found here:
- On receipt of good references and with no issues on your CRB, one of our managers will contact you to discuss your application and confirm if you still wish to volunteer for us.
- We will then invite you to register with LASS. Registration is an agreement between you and LASS which identifies:
• Your role
• The training available to (at no cost to you)
• The expenses that LASS will pay to you
• The insurance cover that will be provided for you
• Who will be your supervisor
- Once you are registered, we will ensure you have all the training necessary for you to complete the role.
- We have Volunteer meetings every two months; we request that newly registered Volunteers attend these meetings which are held during the day and evening to complete an induction to LASS and to meet our staff, and existing Volunteers. – Refreshments are available at the meetings.
